GPMB Global PLT aims to be the leading company creating new entrepreneurs in the Mai Borong Retail-preneurship program. Offering our customers, the very best value has been our driving force since day one. Hence, Mai Borong is a result of extensive market research explored in the business activity of Grand Platters which has profited in gains over the years.
We are business partners with Koperasi Angkasa Malaysia & Amal Malaysia. Our current clients include F&B suppliers such as Kara Marketing (M) Sdn Bhd, Fama Frozz Sdn Bhd and Swang Chai Sdn Bhd.
At GPMB Global, we aim to collaboratively solve the challenges through our Mai Borong platform, which we custom-built in order to further explore the Hotel, Restaurant and Catering (HoReCa) industry on a national scale.
Our revenue will be generated through the sales as a licensor. Products supplied to another Mai Borong outlet (Licensee) and direct open market.
The HoReCa industry is rapidly growing as shown in the data below. This will open a big opportunity for GPMB to market our business and satisfy the demand of the industry.
The wholesale and retail market opportunities are huge and experiencing significant growth as reported in the following:
According to Economics Professor Dr Yeah Kim Leng of Sunway University, the food and beverage (F&B) industry’s income in GDP is expected to rise another 8% in 2023 after a projected growth of 22% in 2022 to RM35.2 billion. The strong recovery follows two consecutive years of decline. Due to Covid-19 lockdowns and movement restrictions, the industry contracted by a sharp -20.8% in 2020 and -8.9% in 2021.
According to the Department of Statistics (DOSM), Malaysia’s services sector revenue saw a double-digit growth of 10.4% to RM473 billion in the first quarter of 2022, driven by wholesale and retail, food and beverage as well as the accommodation segments.
Breakdown by sub-sector revealed the wholesale and retail trade sub-sector saw the highest improvement at 8.6% or RM28.5 billion, followed by the transportation and storage, and food and beverages sub-sectors which increased 32.2%, and 19.9%, respectively to record RM29.3 billion, and RM15.5 billion in 1Q’22.
